We are celebrating Economic Development Week (EDW) 2018!  Established by the International Economic Development Council, the goal of EDW is to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life.

Throughout this week, we at the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) will be sharing information via blog posts, social media and more about what types of assistance we as your local economic developers can assist your Cayuga County business.

The availability and training of workers is an ongoing concern for our local employers. More employers have been reporting an inability to find qualified candidates to fill positions within their organizations, as well as challenges finding the appropriate training resources to improve the skills of new and existing employees.

There are many training assistance programs available to businesses in Cayuga County, which can help boost productivity and efficiency by improving the skills of your workers. CEDA can connect your employees to the right program through organizations like the Cayuga Works Career Center, New York State Department of Labor, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, Agricultural Workforce Certification Program (AWCP), and more.

We have more information on these programs on our website or contact us to find out more about training and workforce development opportunities for your employees.

Tomorrow we will share information about this year’s round of New York State funding and the Consolidated Funding Application process.
