The Cayuga Community Health Network (CCHN) is preparing Wellness Kits for Cayuga County farm workers, who are among the highest at risk for COVID-19 infection due to living and working conditions. The kits include a small bottle (4-5 ounces) of hand sanitizer, a washable face mask (COVID-19 compliant-meaning it fits above the nose and around the bottom of the chin), and information about COVID-19 in Spanish and English.

The kits cost around $8-10 a piece to make and deliver to each farm. As of today, CCHN has supplies for 50 kits. CCHN is asking for donations of  hand sanitizer (in small, individual bottles only) or appropriate washable face masks.  Monetary donations will be used toward purchase of these supplies.  CCHN has partnered with Cornell Cooperative Extension to do no-contact deliveries.

Donations can be mailed to:

Cayuga Community Health Network
2119 West Genesee Street Rd
Auburn, NY, 13201

If you would like to drop off your donation, call Executive Director Shari Weiss at (315) 252-4212 or email sweiss@cayugahealthnetwork.org to make arrangements. For monetary donations to offset the cost of supplies, checks can be made out to Cayuga Community Health Network. All donations are tax deductible. Receipts available upon request.

40 farms have been identified for the first round of available kits.  If your farm would like to receive Wellness Kits, contact Cornell Cooperative Extension Dan Welch (dlw56@cornell.edu, 315-255-1183) or Shari Weiss at CCHN. Requests for kits will be honored as soon as supplies are available.
