This week is Economic Development Week (EDW).  Established by the International Economic Development Council, the goal of EDW is to increase awareness for local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and increase the quality of life.

Throughout this week, we at the Cayuga Economic Development Agency (CEDA) will be sharing information via blog posts, social media and more about what economic development means for our community in Cayuga County.

Quality of life is an important component of economic development. As important as it is to have work for people, it is also important that people want to live here. To highlight this point, CEDA, in collaboration with Leadership Cayuga and Cayuga Community College School of Media Arts student Juliette Zygarowicz, has produced a video that communicates the importance of this balance. The video includes several interviews with residents who paint a picture of what it is like to “live, work and play” in Cayuga County. The goal is to show individuals and businesses that might be considering a move to Cayuga County that it really is the full package.

This short video is featured on CEDA’s homepage and serves as an attraction tool, giving people from outside the area an idea of the values and quality of life in Cayuga County.  Local companies can also share this video with potential hires from outside the region, providing them an overview of some of the best Cayuga County has to offer people looking to settle in the area.

We have launched the video on our YouTube channel and broadcast it via our social media vehicles – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
