CNY Arts, an organization promoting the arts and culture industry in the Central New York region, has released its Arts & Entertainment District draft plans for five CNY cities including Auburn. The plans are available to view and comment on via this link: https://cnyarts.konveio.com/. The organization is asking for respectful feedback as all comments made online are public and viewable to all. The comment period will close June 10th at 5 p.m.
These plans are the result of a two-year effort by CNY Arts and regional stakeholders to implement key objectives from the 2014 ENGAGE CNY Regional Cultural Plan, specifically to facilitate cultural sector involvement in existing neighborhood revitalization initiatives that improve quality of life for residents, economic development for businesses, and attractiveness for tourism.
Support for this effort originates from the Central New York Regional Economic Development Council’s application to the Upstate Revitalization Initiative created in 2015 by Governor Andrew Cuomo to facilitate economic development through regional-based planning.
