The village of Moravia has secured a $2.25M New York Forward grant to support downtown revitalization projects and a community input meeting was held to gather suggestions for potential uses of funding. The original application included a $6.5M plan with 18 proposed projects, aimed at transforming Main Street and creating new public spaces. To secure the grant, projects should be more than just ideas, with secured funding and with ownership of any sites themselves. A strategic investment plan will be developed to guide the projects and potential future improvements beyond the grant. Project proposals must be submitted by July 23 for consideration! The community expressed enthusiasm and emphasized priorities such as preserving history and promoting economic development. The state will ultimately approve the funded endeavors, ensuring the projects align with the outlined goals. More can be read through the full article here.
