We wanted to share a friendly reminder that the deadline for the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) is fast approaching. In just two weeks, on July 28th at 4pm sharp, applications are due. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to submit your streamlined funding request with access to over 30 programs from 10 state agencies, all through a single portal.

It’s important to note that while some programs have a fixed deadline of July 28th at 4pm, others are open enrollment programs that remain open until all funds are exhausted. So act swiftly to secure your chance for funding. Projects are thoroughly reviewed on a quarterly basis, with additional reviews scheduled as needed.

In this post, we want to highlight one program in particular: the new micro grant program for craft beverages. Central New York has established itself as a thriving hub for the craft beverage industry. With its rich agricultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and a passionate (growing!) community of artisans, Central New York has become a dynamic haven for craft beverage enthusiasts. This new micro grant program offers reimbursable grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000. The grants are specifically designed to enhance production capacity, production efficiency, quality control, and business infrastructure for craft beverage manufacturers.

Wondering if your craft beverage business is eligible? Here are the requirements:

  • Your business must be licensed by the NYS Liquor Authority for beverage alcohol production in the state of NY.
  • You must hold one of the craft beverage manufacturing licenses issued by the NYS Liquor Authority, which are listed below:
    • DW 301 Winery
    • FW 302 Farm Winery
    • MW 307 Micro Farm Winery
    • D 101 Brewer
    • MI 101 Micro Brewery
    • FD 106 Farm Brewery
    • MR 210 Restaurant Brewer
    • DA 206 Distiller Class A or A-1
    • DB 205 Distiller Class B or B-1
    • DC 204 Distiller Class C
    • DD 207 Farm Distiller Class D
    • CD 304 Cider Producer
    • CF 309 Farm Cidery
    • MD 312 Mead Producer
    • FY 313 Farm Meadery

Program Objectives:

  • Minimum grant request: $25,000
  • Maximum grant request: $50,000
  • Projects with a total cost of $250,000 or more and/or creating 5 or more manufacturing jobs should consider alternative funding opportunities available through the CFA.
  • It is strongly encouraged to reach out to CEDA to discuss your project before submitting the application.
  • Projects must involve new equipment purchases, infrastructure and/or facilities expansion or upgrade, or a clear expansion of existing equipment and/or facilities.
  • Projects must take place at the licensed location of production. Please note that licensed locations without on-site production are ineligible.
  • Projects should be completed within 2 years of the project start date.
  • Applicants must contribute 10% of the total project cost as a matching requirement. This can be in the form of cash equity directly related to the project or the purchase of equipment/materials for the eligible project.

Don’t delay! The deadline for this grant program is July 28th at 4pm. Submit your application promptly, as applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
